Check out the long version of this answer here — but the short version is that I have a background in marketing and understand what it takes to get content to move prospects in the direction you want them to go. And I’ve been working with SaaS marketing teams for over ten years. Plus I’m easy to work with, and I deliver on time. My clients have lots of good things to say about me.
I like to see my work produce results. For this to happen, I need to get a firm grasp of the pain points your product solves, understand your UVP, and find out the role the content will play in your marketing strategy. And I like to boost the value of the content I’m creating by providing on-page SEO optimization and ideas for repurposing the content so you get more bang for your buck. Because of this, pricing is based on the nature of the engagement, and it’s generally on the higher side. If you let me know the type of engagement you have in mind, I’m happy to give you a quick ballpark estimate (minus the sales pitch!).
Because I need a thorough understanding of your company and your product offerings (and how we can lead readers to value what you do best!), I like to work on an ongoing basis. Doing this upfront research for only a small project translates into wonky pricing. For this reason, most of my clients commit to a 6-month minimum of working with me as we build out the content called for in their content plan. This content usually includes pillar posts, standard posts, guest articles, content upgrades (like buyer’s guides and e-guides), and case studies. But I’m happy to work on a one-off basis if you want to bring me in for a larger project.
New clients start with a short (easy!) questionnaire that allows me to get a solid understanding of your personas, the business, and the product offerings. Then, at the beginning of each month, we have a collaboration call. Together, we identify your goals for the content, the target audience, how the content will be promoted, and the funnel strategy associated with the content. Next, I create a project roadmap for the content, which contains our plan and high-level outlines of the deliverables. You’ll add your input, and we’ll iterate as needed. Then I create the drafts for each piece of content and add my recommendations for internal links and layout. You’ll review and make any revision requests. Two sets of revisions are included in my standard pricing to be sure you’re happy with the finished pieces. Professional proofreading ensures the copy is perfect.
